The blue frieze on a black background is typical of the Fratelli Della Valle workshop. In the tabletop shown here, the decoration is ornamental, rich in naturalistic and fantastic details, it takes up most of the space available, without taking a breath away from the splendid central view which, despite the small size, shows a landscape airy and romantic in taste. The fake trompe l’oeil golden frame that surrounds the landscape causes the illusion of a real painting placed on the table.
